I went to the national gallery (?) in ueno to see the gem exhibition. it is divided in three parts: raw gems, cut gems and jewelry. my favorite part was the stones that glow under ultraviolet light.
we had hot soba for lunch (I had マイタケ and asparagus tempura). it was very good.
back home, I was reading the news. flights in and out of japan from japanese airlines will cost 1.4 times more due to increasing fuel prices.
